Pulse lasers are generally not a popular weapon, but I see their potential in a certain few mechs. They lack range, they're hotter than hell, they weigh more....lots of cons...

But they do have one particularly nasty pro: Their full damage potential is unleashed faster, allowing you to pinpoint damage on a particular part of a mech much quicker. The extra 1 pt of damage they provide on the side is just a tiny perk.

That being said, here's my ON1-K brawler build. heat sinks crammed into it to help with the quick buildup you are going to experience.

the UAC5 allows you to still fling out damage while running hot, as well as provides some essential screenshake. All 4 of your lasers have a 0.6 second duration, allowing you to peak and poke for an immediate massive burst of PP damage.

    Alternative Build:

Trading the Mpulse for Mlas allows you to fit a BAP, Equip more armor, and Run cooler at an "Easy mode" level. Equipping the Mlas Range module allows your lpulse and mlas to have near the same damage @ range profile. The downside of this is the Mlas have a 1 second duration, meaning you have to look at the target for 0.4 seconds longer: This can and will make a difference.

I like it, but based in my experience, i dont want anymore UAC when u are mounting only 1 of them. The jam can hit u in the face when u less expect it. Also i prefer this other distribution and to add AMS.

You should combine LPLas and MLas instead of MPLas. They aren't matching that good anymore, but are still similar enough to be used in the same weapon group. By doing LPLas + MLas in each arm you can group your arm weapons together. This also allows you to mount another 2 DHS as well. Also: redistributed the armor a bit and used DHS for crit padding.

A brawler type mech without SRMs looks a bit strange to me, but if works for you... go ahead. :)

EDIT: Here's a pretty similar brawler build but which adds SRMs as well. You should give that one a try as well if you're liking stuff like this.

If those two fail for you there's still the possibility to go AC20...

(Asymetric build so that you're keeping 2 LLas when the AC torso gets blown off.)

I see ur points and i like it. Still prefer the pure fun of a chained 4x SRM4 and seeing the enemy getting missiles in the face all the time ;)
