3rd Person is here! We hope you enjoy it! Navigation marker posts in Terra Therma will now actually cast light (med+ spec) for slightly better path-finding. Pro-tip: If the marker post is on the right edge of the path, you are headed toward the center volcano. Terra Therma - Damage and heat sustained whilst in the Volcano has been increased and is subject to further tweaking. Cockpit lights indicating the open/closed state of weapon bay doors are currently non-functional. Normal functionality will return in a future release. WHAT!
Yeeeessssss!!! Agility buffs for mediums! But, the missile door bug is a pretty major eff-up. Why would they release without fixing that?? I know it only effects a few mechs, but, that's pretty crappy.
3rd person view came out to, can't you just zoom out and see if the ports are open? That aside, I'm not exactly sure what the timing issue for the AC2 would be. I'm guessing its for those dakka builds with AC2 banks, but they seemed to have a easy enough time with the timing as it was. Love the new spread on the LBX 10 though, it'll be like a SRM box that can crit! I can see that being really scary in the near future. Not so sure how much the SSRM2 buff will make it playable. I think people were shying away from it because it hits random spots on the torso, so I don't see how slightly more damage will fix that issue. Now I just need to get my computer back up and we can try this bad boy out.
The MG nerfs do not surprise me, but it is only bad if you are using one or two. If you are boating 4 or 6 it is still effective, though not like before. The UAC/5 buff...time to dust off the chainsaw and rename it buzzsaw. The AC/2 cooldown is a non-issue, it just added .02 seconds (negligible in human terms). The LBX-10 Spread....Meh. Need more LBX Varieties. Streak damage bufff....Meh. Need more Streak Varieties. Terra Therma a.k.a Mount DOOM. be careful where you tread, it could get a bit hot.
Did anybody already try the buffed SSRMs? Today's patch should also be reason enough to reevaluate all viable builds mounting UAC5s and possibly those mounting LBX as well.
Yeah. They seem about the same to me... I ran 4xSSRM as an anti-light... Still hits all over the mech's body, just a little harder.
In mode select there are options for assault and conquest Hardcore??? Not yet available to play anyway..... Any news abt that? PS: who was clamoring a buff??? Me! I love the buff on UAC5 ...time to take em out from storage hear:
SRM2 damage: 4. SSRM2 damage: 5. So now you're dealing more damage without aiming. What a great way to reward skill. If I understand correctly, the "hardcore mode" forbids 3rd person view. A few possible game changers in this patch. I like the movements buffs given to the mediums, they really did need it, and we may see more of them on the battle field now, fingers crossed. The bay door light not working, that is a small mistake, they probably overwrote part of the code for it, they will fix it later. While I think the Streaks needed a small buff, I think that the whole damage point per missile is a bit to much, I think it should only have been buffed up to 2.0 instead of 2.5, but PGI have all the data there, so there must have been a reason for it. And with the launch coming up so soon, we are going to be seeing a lot more weapon changes coming in as they balance it out.
I think the reason is precisely that they don't have the data, and they're doing this to collect it. I really hope, because it's obviously obvious the weapon is now unbalanced. And to be honest I found the streaks good how they were pre-patch. They need to deal less damage than the real missiles.
I think the damage buff of the streaks was necessary to make them more attractive again. The Spread Nerf & SRM Buff from last patch made Streaks so inferior to SRMs that no serious player wanted Streaks anymore. Maybe they add SSRM4/6. That would make me play some Streakbuilds, but for now SRMs is still the more effective choice.
I disagree with the SSRM damage buff simply from a design mechanic. The trade off was "always hits" versus "more damage but you have to aim it". More serious players don't need the "always hit" crutch and can land their SRMs with a high degree of accuracy anyways. What happens when SSRM6s come out? Streak cats, streak cats everywhere!
