After all your Game Experience with the Mechs+Variants+Builds which is your most favorite one? The reason can be anything - the looks+feel, the kill/win ratio, the name, etc Lets see, which Mechs are more favored among us.
I have to vote Jenner. It has the best Firepower, speed, and armor in a light chassis, and I made it my only Founders mech in the closed beta. Truly the best all around light chassis line, second only to ECM only light mechs.
Which is the best? Difficult. Going by win/loose I should always ride a Ilya Chainsaw (107 wins to 61 loss) or a JR7-D (108 wins to 76 loss). I have a few absurd w/l ratios on other mechs (anyone beat my 2.25 with the SDR-5V of 27 wins to 12 loss?) but anything below a hundred games I ignore as statistically unsound. I have no absolute favorite currently, Atlas, Catapults, Quickdraws or Jenners are the most often used.
Usually i like playing Indirect Firesupporter (LRMs) most, so I'm a big Fan of Catapults, Awesomes and Stalkers. But if i look at my game stats i have to admit, that the best Mech for me is the CTF-3D. I do most kills, most damage and can survive pretty good with that variant. The CTF-3D has everything i need in an OP Mech: plenty of Armor Fearsome Firepower via 2 Ballistic Slots + 4 Energy Slots Agility via big Xl Engine + JJs -> Survivability Can be built for deadly Jumpsnipers or aggressive Cannon.Brawlers awesome Name, really reminds of the original ancient heavy armored Cavalry in 3D IMO Best build for the CTF-3D: http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=40&l=d0148ac455612c5e0963da1d8add3cd2137e7c89 As a Liao Mechwarrior its maybe not a wonder that i can pilot the Cataphract better than other Mechs. So i vote for the Cataphracts!
The Cataphract 4X. I hated this mech when I first got it, because I really wanted to make an AC-2 build work, but the low slung arms made it a terrible long-distance direct fire support mech. I've recently come back to it though as I've been getting into AC-5's and this thing is a beast as a second-line brawler. The 2xUAC5 + 2xAC5 build puts out so much damage it should be illegal, and the 3xAC5 build can just put out a constant stream of damage with no heat build-up. Edit: Prior to the PPC nerf, it used to be the CPLT-K2 2xERPPC + 2xLL build. I loved the range, damage output, speed, and look of the mech, but with the extra heat, I just don't have the discipline to keep the heat under control, as I had run this right on the edge pre-nerf.
Yeesh, I don't have 100 matches in any of my 'mechs, much less 100 in a given build. Overall, my Catphracts (3D, 2X and Ilya) are the only 'mechs with both a positive WLR and a KDR. They weigh in at about 3000 damage per hour. The 2X is dragging them down, though, since I can't seem to find a build that doesn't get me killed in a blaze of glory. They have 151 matches combined. Both my Catapults (C1, C4, K2) and Hunchbacks (4P, 4SP, 4G) have negative WLR, but positive KDR, but only earn about 2k damage per hour. The bright, shining star of the lot is the K2 which has 2 kills per match and has more damage/hour than the other two cats combined. These have 64 and 87 matches combined, respectively. The Dragons (Flame, 5N) are a mixed bag. I don't have either of my two elited yet (not for lack of XP on the Flame's part), while both at a positive WLR, they have negative KDRs. I guess this shows that, while I'm a credit to my team in a Dragon, I'm just too fragile. In 6million cbills, we'll see how that changes, I'll have my 3rd Dragon. I've run 72 matches with my Dragons, most in the Flame.
Archwright, I didn't think of damage/hour. Good point there. Holy h***fire, the Ilya chainsaw (practically the only build I have run on the Ilya) has 4200 damage/hour! That was interesting to see, gotta take a look at the rest of them.
i dont own the Ilya.. but i think Chainsaw build is the only build which could persuade me to buy the Ilya.
Highlander for me. I am an assault pilot and this mech is tough but also flexible and mobile with jump jets. It also looks cool and well who doesn't like it when Heavy Metal blasts out music after every kill.
The Jenner is and always has been the king of the light mech for the amount of fire power and maneuverability and speed that goes into that little chassis. With the ECM, now the Spider takes top spot
