Was experimenting with builds for a couple hours, trying to find something that I liked before I finally hit upon this. The triple LLasers allow fairly good alpha potential with manageable heat, while the UAC is great for pounding an enemy as well as getting that last shot in (when it doesn't jam). Best range is ~300-500m, although longer ranges and brawling can be done with mixed success as well if need be. In my experience, the XL has not been a hindrance so far, maybe 1 in 15 deaths could have been avoided had I used a STD, and even that's iffy as the large CT seems to just disappear once one enters thick combat. Variant of the Design dropping 1.5 tons of armor for an XL360, giving it an extra 2.3 KPH speed: Variant with an XL350, a AC10 instead of the UAC5, and 2 tons less armor:
I like your first Version. The other ones are not so good because of too low Leg.Armor. Full Stars! The worst is the AC10.Version. Delete that version, its crap.
not sure why you would call the a/c 10 version "crap" but...to each his own. It has a higher pinpoint alpha than any of the others and that lets him hit and run better which increases this mechs survivability quite a bit as no one really tries to leg an Orion, the CT is just too damn easy.
Crap because 1. Too low Leg.Armor and 2. All hot Weapons so its bad for hotter maps. But i see 1.as the main Problem. Dont go below 40 Leg on an Assault. Some Lights.Pilot are focussing on Legs. Only noobish Lights.Pilots aim for CT on Assaults.
