Their reddit (the link is somewhere around here) asked to some relation to this quote "if we didn't quite hit the mark let us know ("This mech should have this weapon perk instead of that weapon perk")" and so on. They asked if they weapon perks should be changed entirely. So I am worried a bit.
I wasn't aware of that. It's true some mechs got strange quirks (Arrow for example, with AC/20 quirks; I'm not complaining, I use an AC/20 on this mech, but MGs would have make more sense with the hardpoints).
Arrow is a good example, yes. Can't get behind the quirks for the Flame as well, and some of them are pretty laughable (SHDs) or won't help the chassis very much (QKDs).
I would love it if they made general modifications like "AC10 heavy buff but buff the AC20 in case they use that instead" for the mechs that can use them. Like M1A1 with the M1 105mm that got "upgraded" to 120mm and lost some of its safety features and reload time. Turret loading section was made for 105mm, not 120mm. So it should reflect on mechs too right? AC2/Gauss, AC5/UAC5, AC10/AC20, Gauss/PPC(odd "energy dependant" since gauss is a magnet coil), LRM15/20, LRM5/10 and so on. Maybe group SRM2/SRM4 and then SRM4/SRM6 depending on how big the mech is perhaps. Would cover a larger range of builds.
Tried that too for some time, but if you need high concentration at work you won't do it long without losing performance.. I myself need at very least 5hrs and a lot of Coffee the next morning.
Yeah i know what you mean. My Dad is 70+ he needs max 5hrs sleeptime then auto wakes up.. In fact we humans are sleeping away too much of our lifetime. If we only were Immortal
That reminds me.... the DRG-5N... what loadout did you use as the 5 tons ammo in mine is waaaaaaaaaay too light?
Anyone tried the BJ-1DC as an AC5 Platform? (e.g. using the XL190 from the Locust... ) *Quirks: AC/5 Cooldown+40% Ballistic Weapon Cooldown+20% AC/5 Range+20% Ballistic Weapon Range+10% Ballistic Weapon Velocity+12.5%
Nice build, however very slow. This is the one i'm going to build starting off testing: Doesn't really need DHS as it's only AC5s. However, the heat efficiency is much worse than displayed considering the 40% cooldown. Probably closer to a 50-60% heat efficiency.
8 tons ammo: The only change from my original build was to drop 1 dhs for that 8th ton of ammo so that was an easy change.
yeah, i'd rather have dakka than ERLL. I don't know why they quirked every cbill dragon with ERLL's...
Not convinced of the value of 3 x ac2 atm when you have the 1N's superb bonuses so preferred a more balanced build with good firepower in both sides.
My Oxide is deadly again. 4 SRM4's and 450 ammo. I am really digging the quirks, PGI has done a great job of making IS mechs competitive again.
I still don't get Oxide. I mean, I love Jenners. I'm great in a Jenner-F. Why am I so awful in an Oxide? Still haven't broken 300 damage in a match with mine somehow
It's more like a Jenner K in play style. Don't fight Light mechs, fight Heavy or Assault mechs. Have a getaway plan, so you can Alpha once with SRM4's, the jet out of there as fast as you can so you don't take damage. Then do it again, but from a different direction, and different target.
