OUCH!!! I have some complaints about MWO but that was brutal. I did not like the part about throttle decay giving less control of a mech. Could not disagree more. IMO it gives much more control. I am still keeping the faith regardless of the reviews. I love MWO too much to let the details spoil my fun. PGI will get there. Patience patience patience. We have just scraped the surface of the amount of content coming our way. I am going with the attitude that the longer it takes to release content just means that PGI is making sure its implemented correctly (at least thats my hope). Keep it up PGI and dont let the whiners and ranters control your decisions. Great game with HUGE potential.
The "Lasting Appeal" section from 10-ton hammer hits... well, like a 10-ton hammer. The Mittani review brings up a really good point. The trial 'mechs should always be champion versions. Sending a stock 'mech (even a stock Hero) into the fray is suicide. I hope that the trial 'mechs are always heroes from this point forward.
I disagree with a lot of 10THammer's review... I would definitely give sound and value much higher ratings. While I would love a soundtrack for the game in loading and config screens, it would be terrible in coordinated drops. I think the overall is spot on. Mid to high 60s is right where I put it. However, once again, there is such great potential for this game.
In a lot of reviews, MWO is saved by the Cry-Engine with high graphis ratings. Otherwise the average score would be poisonous low. Well, I'll keep watching tho not playing right now. I find it a rather negative experience ATM.
I must agree with you on this point. If it's not the fantastic Cry-Engine i wouldn't have given MWO a chance. I'm still playing MWO because it never felt more realistic in a Mech-Cockpit before.
I'll drop by when they deliver my Phoenix mechs but right now the idiot matchmaker is just ticking me off. Maybe I'll see some of that "constant stream of improvements" by then.
