I actually run this exact loadout unless I'm acting as a Forward Observer for LRM's. Then TAG and BAP are required to be the most effective I can be, for that particular role.

Added my updated version of this variant now that ECM and BAP can't be run at the same time. Stripped out BAP and added an AMS.

    Why did I do that?

ECM may give you limited protection from LRMs but I am finding that many lights are running BAP to counter your ECM and without AMS you are toast. You don't have JJ to jump and avoid missiles like you do in a Jenner so you really do need the AMS in order to remain combat effective.

Hey Michael, how do I see your second variant everyone is talking about? Also, House Steiner isn't available as an avatar and it won't let me upload it.

I like your build Michael, working out great. I become an annoyance for the enemy, especially when they waste their LRMs on me. It's a fast spotter and the weapons are great for a quick punch and go.

The House Steiner thing should now work properly and you can select it if you wish.

Glad the build is working out for you! The second build that some people were talking about was something I had for PUG matches but now I just run my competitive build so removed it from this thread.

I do think more ammo is needed though.

BAP and ECM together are pointless as of a patch or two ago.

In my opinion it is like getting 1.5 pieces of equipment for the space and tonnage requirements of 2.

I agree. The only thing good about it is to allow locking of streaks while still in ECM stealth mode. I would much rather use the tonnage for more interesting things.

Sadly, this build is no longer the Meta for the Raven due to the SSRM spread change.

If you are assigned scouting roles only and/or attacking larger slower targets then okay this can still work with the SSRM but if your task is to hunt lighter faster moving targets I suggest you check out the MK II.

All rvn builds got heavy armor on the back, why is that when you can allways face your target, even if it is the one you are running from...

All about personal flavor. Sometimes I am assigned a role where I run into an area and pop a UAV. When doing this I don't often get the luxury of facing a single target. I prefer to have a decent amount of armor on my back. If I was running the 2x ERLLas sniper variant then sure I could go heavy on the front and light on the back because I am not engaged in any skirmishes.

    Thx for explanation

I must admit that sometimes teammates shoot me to the back more than the enemy, especially when i chase some light...

A true classic. Still very strong, and often a very reliable build to fall back on.
