I absolutely love this build.

Just got my Ravens on Thursday and Mastered the 3L with this one. I had a bit above 900 damage match with this one and got the Bridesmaid achievement with it.

Not so good against other lights but rips anything larger a new one.

Forgive the mid game start, shadow play only recorded the last 15 minutes. I have since corrected it to pull the last 16 minutes of a game. Also, it might be NSFW if you play the volume really loud. We swear when playing.

These friggen things and 2 PPC/2 AC/5 victors and highlanders are the meta right now. Can't play a game in my brawlers without some form of long range hurt or I get torn to pieces by tiny ass snipers with ECM coverage. Bloody things. Can't stand fighting them.

 

Im a 3day old MWO player, and i usually play fast snipey things in games. Ofcourse i rushed this setup and this is what i came up with just now:

The Raven 3L "Super Chicken" build is stupid powerful in the right hands. Often times it is ignored because of its size or invisible due to the ECM. This is my favorite mech in the game and one I pride myself as being a specialist in. The last tournament I used the raven for 2/3 of the tournament and climbed up to 12 place in it before being forced into the Stalker in order to pound out the kills and maintain my ranking.

 

Im debating whether i should try the Cicada-3M build with ECM and double PPC.
Any thoughts on how it compares to this build?

 

Depends on how PPCs work for you. If you are like me, with a 30 or less ping, PPCs may not hit at all. They may hit 1/3 of the time, they may hit all of the time. You will have to test it out.

 

Are you saying PPC is semi-broken, depending on ping?
If so, im staying the hell away from that lol

 

Yes, low ping makes PPCs unreliable at best. From what I've notices, I see shots land on a mech and no damage register on their paper-doll about 25% of the time. Not a ton, but, significant enough to make me choose another weapon system. LIKE A DUALLY LLAS 3L!

PS: You can do the same build in a Cicada (2x LLas w/ ECM @ 150kph) with a little extra armor, however, they feel a little strange and present a MUCH bigger target for your enemies. I just started giving them another shot and at high speed, they have a weird feel. Same speed as my Raven and Jenner, but, the movement archetype is a slightly amiss.

 

I love this build, its fun and very effective.
Finally got my 1000+ dam game.

I sub out xl295 for a xl280 and a little more cooling.

I actually got ridiculed in a game for "lol raven on the front lines". I got the last laugh though...



I think I am starting to get the hang of it though. The shooting positions are so unique and it took me a while to be brave enough to constantly run around solo and flank. I'm a little embarrassed it took 75 games to get the first 1K game, but its done!



Now averaging 638.84 dmg per game over the past 26 games. 51-10 for a 5.1 KDR also. Its a fantastic mech to play against the clan invasion and the 3/3/3/3 matchmaker constantly making lights insta-queue.

 

Right on the nose, the clan lights are underwhelming, so the average weight in queue has gone up. Long range harass mechs eat passive heavy mechs at range, and as such have profited immensely. Pretty sure my RVN round in sig was post clans on alpine, just shooting all day.
