Once again, I'm surprised to find a build that hasn't been posted up here already! I just picked up the Shadow Cats and am trying to find a build that works best for my style. I come from a long range of mid-range IS builds and am used to fighting 200-500 meters. The cLPLs on the SCat seem to get a lot of good press, but fighting at 600 meters seems to not mesh well with my style. The streak and pulse heavy builds seem a little bit too close for my comfort zone and I just outright suck with SRMs even though I dabble in them every now and then. So, with all of that being said, this build was born!

One of the roles this mech appears to be able to excel at is light hunting. Its MASC and JJs allow it to keep up with lights for long enough to get a decent amount of firepower on them. Streaks seem particularly amenable to this task, and I've discovered that clan mechs can boat the hell out of them. However, it's nice having some additional firepower to do damage when waiting for the lights to start harassing, and it is always good to have weapons that don't spread damage all over the place. Oh yeah, and the cMLAs is probably the best weapon in the game, so may as well fit as many on as possible.

This build is a great mid-range fighter that can light hunt on the side. The only down side is that the weapon quirks are completely wasted on this beast.

 

Just picked one up myself and tried this build out, even more fun than the similar Stormcrow build! It will make many pilots regret charging this 45 tonner.
