after running the various SSRM + large AC builds i came to the decision that SSRMs were not effective for hunting lights on a mech going less than 100kph, and inefficient for fighting larger mechs, so i rebuilt the 2H for more of a striker/urban fighting role. I kept the AC10 and XL 300, as they give good range and speed. Swapping the SSRMs and beagle for SRM4s gives the mech a more concentrated punch, though at the expense of accuracy.
This is a great build. I was just about to post it, but I saw you beat me to it. Absolutely one of my favourite mechs to play. I moved some armor around, added another heatsink and 3/3 Jumpjets: Here's a version with an LB-10X for those that prefer:
strip those armor and lasers and go wild who need a backup with 1400 potential damage ? LBX10 version with less brutal stripping (or you can keep the same and add 5th ton of SRM ammo)
I've been using this build for Scouting missions since it packs a nice punch and moves quickly. Upped the engine to an XL320 to help keep up with the lights, and wound up dropping the medium laser after a few missions, since I was finding it was basically useless.
5/5, This is a great mech a I have a few well performing builds for it, but currently this one topped them. I have a little twist on the original build, replacing the arm laser with 2MGs under the AC10. 1st game out it came back with 6 kills, plus a few solos and KMDDs. Solid performer ever since.
@ShiverMeRivets You might want to try out the new UAC10 in this build for extra alpha? Jams can be mitigated by the SRM+MG fire and temporarily disengaging with your speed. 1t of ammo for 2MG is a bit much, I suggest running .5t instead. (I changed to an XL295 in this example, but leave the SRM ammo the same and you can run it with the same XL300). Personally I prefer using this SHD for incredibly effective 3AC2 or 3RAC2 spam, but I can see this bui.d working pretty well. Interested in trying it out on the 2D2 perhaps at a later date.
