My dropdeck is 2x BJ-1X, BLR-1S and TDR-5SS Last battle i changed the Battlemaster for a TDR 3 ER PPC quirked.
Crappy start when someone quit w/o firing a shot. Then we got badly positioned and had to fight our way back into it. Eventually collapsed to a really good push by them. We had some bizarre mechs but luckily the 2 dual AMS Jesters took the edge off their masses of LRM's in the first round. Yes we've fought you before Marik with your fixation with LRM's.... Had some tragic bits like my 4th mech I lost all my armament bar a medium laser literally as I landed from the dropship.... plus a dumb death earlier to a JM6..... and a death to an Oxide pack.... But I tried oh I tried! I even killed a Firestarter with my Wolverines single laser.. fuck you! Drop deck was 2 x TDR-9S with triple ER PPC (STD engine) and 2 x WVR-6K with dual LPL/triple ML (XL engine). Technically this doesn't count btw as our team did decently well.
Made it through two waves of primarily TDR-9S, a mixed wave led by an Atlas-DDC, and 11.4/12 through the light rush at the end. The last light was a spider at 60% with its left arm gone, right arm and right torso crit, and some shade of orange on all of the remaining armor.
Ouch every enemy pilot was active to the end.... thats a bad sign. On the other hand I'm not surprised looking at the other side - 228th seem to be a pure CW side now that are very active. Ouch just noticed the 1,093 and 1,129 damage players on your side got just 1 and 2 kills respectively. Were the other side rotating damaged mechs well?
I don't really know, from the chat you can see I was complaining becasue on the respawn they went for a single timber instead of joining back to us at the gate when the game was not screwed yet, well like 6 of them took 2 min firing at him to kill, it just seems that people can't kill fast enough or hit at all. Also consider that my last 2 mechs were wasted because there was too many of them, it's like the kills and the damage came with 2 mechs only, aka the wubverine and the dakka wolvie. I can't really understand... Anyway, until the counter-attack bullshit is up this cannot be countered, clan mechs just have a huge range advantage, and on random teams the exitation will lead to ranged fights most of the times. Now that it's a skirmish you can't even break the omega and win -> even worse.
Yeah if they manage to get a good firing line into your spawn its grim. Like that fourth WVR-6K of mine that lost its arm literally on dropping leaving me with 1 ML in my head. From that point all I could do was stay alive and fire as I could. Ultimately, they pushed with their remanants and our last 4 or so including me just died as they had an almost untouched quad UAC/5 King Crad which pushed through. I have to admit if they leave the TDR-9S untouched I'm tempted to go 3 x TDR with a light as my fourth as its much more likely to survive a bit if the drop site is overrun.
You guys are still playing this? LOL I gave up playing CW until they split the queues. Facing 228, SA, MS, (insert other coordinated TS3 team here) in PUG groups is like Russian Roulette and I'm not gonna pay to put a gun to my head.
With 3 TDR you can even fit SirHitman's BJ-1X, and from his vids it seems pretty damn good for CW. Anyway, sometimes I do get to win, but it's very rare : Here I got another guy to go 2000+ and many around 1500, thing that almost never happens in solo CW.
I hadn't played since the initial roll-out and retried upon the request of an teammate. When in a small group it is no more a Russian Roulette than any normal queue drop where one can face terrible stomps as well. The money however seems much better in CW,...
Very nice @fx8230 I've never got over 1,600 or so damage but i generally get quite a few kills as I'm running pinpoint damage. @Michael Yeah quite a few of us play according to who I see on the battlefield on the other side. In fairness generally its people in units rather than individuals though its just my unit is somewhat "quiet" atm which is why I'm very hit and miss on CW. We've been shopping around for a new unit but the vast majority of recruiting units are non Euro (and secondary non-Davion but thats just me really in unit who that bothers I think). PS: We even introduced two members to CW this weekend coincidentally.
Oh yes, that was grim,... my last drop occurred at that time. My BJ-1X,... I was able to get away from that firing squad alive but had no armor anymore on most of my upper mech,...
I have pinpoint decks usually and as you can see from others screens in the most kills CW edition, I used to do less damage and more kills, but lately I'm running a mix as I introduced some assaults back (with AMS too); while a lot of tonnage on a single mech might feel a waste for CW, and probably is, the clans first wave are usually very strong and if I can tank and mitigate some damage it's going to help. This doesn't change that in a good IS team I'd bring few assaults and focus on the quirk monsters (TDRs and Wolvies, the Dragon and the Jager, things like that). Another thing I've noticed is IS people want to trade at range. Why ?! And at least if they really want to, then they might as well get the TDR 9S. There's no other IS mech that can trade at 800-1000 meters vs clans equally. Unless you are using an ECM light with 2 ERLLs, but in that case ECM will be wasted most of the time.
