STK-5M Katusha (2x LRM20+A, 4x MLas, 2x SSRM2, TAG, BAP, STD280)

    This is my first attempt at a LRM build and so far the results have been pretty good. I mainly want to use this build as support for the first part of the battle, and then be able to hold my own on the front line to help eliminate any remaining enemies or at least put up a good fight. Any suggestions would be helpful.

    First off, welcome to MechSpecs! Good to see new pilots in the community. :D

    For your build, I would throw one of the SSRM in the other side torso so that you can keep going in a melee if you lose a ST. Otherwise, very nice build. Good effectiveness of range, armor and speed for a Stalker. Well played!

    A good first attempt. The only real issue with it is the sheer number of weapons groups. While having a weapon for every scenario seems like a good idea on paper, in reality it can prove too much to handle. Also, if you are planning on using anything bigger than an LRM10 on a Stalker, its best to use the 3H chassis, with it's 20 tube launchers. Here's something from my rather extensive Stalker collection:



    Re-engine and up-armour to suit.

    I disagree. As long as you have the TAG macro, there should only be 3 weapon groups. Maybe a fourth for a 2x MLas cooler melee shot.

    Yeah. Good point. Helps a lot in nullifying AMS. Two waves of 20 missiles is still fairly effective, but, one wave of 40 is pretty brutal.

    The game still does not register waves over 20 missiles at a time on a mech, keep that in mind. ESPECIALLY without A+, TAG, or NARC.

    You mean, the damage won't register or AMS won't recognize it?

    Alternate Build:



    Ammo-free legs and C.A.S.E improve safety. STD300 engine for better mobility and utility (its a common rating of engine).
