Curious....At what point did MWO start requiring 8+ gigs of ram to run properly? I know my ancient setup now needs upgrading....Though I was running it (albeit with the occasional issue every now and then) smoother 6-7 months ago. Win7/4GB/7870 Forcing the 32bit client as well. (or attempting to at least)
I had to force 32 for a while before I updated my rig. On the good side its really not heavy on the GPU but its always been CPU intensive. Sadly can't comment on the ram as I've had 8 until this machine for years.
My rig runs the game just fine an all maps (including the newer FPS killers), even for being as old as it is. AMD FX-8320 overclocked to 4.5 ghz, 16gb DDR3 RAM, GTX 770. Now when I stream it is a different story. When not streaming, I get between 60 and 100 fps depending on the map. When streaming I get between 20 and 60 fps depending on the map. The newer maps have basically killed streaming for me lately, hence one of the reasons why I don't do it as much anymore.
I ran MWO on my old rig till last christmas and in 720p it ran quite well. (Core2Duo @3,6-4 GHZ, 4 GB Ram and GTX 260, short before the end of the rig with a gtx 970). Played like this for over a year and had no problems till they released the new maps. Those dropped my FPs below 40-50 to 20-30 and therefore it was time 4 a new PC.
