It's a fast Mechbuild with two Large Pulse Laser :phear:

Welcome to MechSpecs! Hope you will stick around and discuss mech mechanics to your hearts content!

Pretty nice build, I like the two LPLAS which are rare to see but not too crazy about a single ton for a five ton LRM rack. If you want it, should have another ton.

    Hm.

Had to drop a heatsink and the engine down to a 300 (lost 2,8 kph) but by switching the LRM10 to two LRM5's I gained higher rate of fire. Also two more tons of ammo (54 shots instead of 18 previously) and two more jumpjets which I felt is highly appropriate on a dual LPLAS build.

Each to his own, I think I'll try this one. Thanks for the thread. :)

I've recently grown more fond of the LPLs, using them in my hunchback instead of PPCs. I'd rather drop to regular LL though, since then you have a larger optimal range in which you can use LRMs and LL without too much damage drop off. LPL are really a brawler weapon and I'd play this more second-line.
A thunderbolt is so survivable it's a waste to put an XL engine in, especially when you build it a bit like a frontline mech with some LRMs.
Also, 2xLRM5 is 1 ton lighter and occupies the same amount of slots as an LRM10, but you take up 2 hardpoints. if you only use one of the 2 anyway, you might as well mount that.

Starting from Lan's variant, I've made this STD280 version, also possible with STD275 and increasing the armor by .5 tons.
