Just saw a game with a guy in a Jenner JR7-F with 2x small lasers and a PPC. He was attempting to snipe, at 300m, using alpha strikes only. If MWO had destructible environments the hills would have been flattened, and the sky would have cowered in fear. The enemy team had nothing to worry about.
PPC sniper with Jenner is doable, Though I would at least try to place 1-2 MLas instead of the SLas. This is more like a sucky player and sucky build. Recreated. Note that if you ripout the DHS you can fit 2x MLas instead. Also I would have my side arms one on each side. http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=20&l=399742050abf72ce04ae8875e5b2e6c76e377330
yeah but totally too weak in brawls. LRM30.Phract is crazy due to the very limited Tubesizes. You get a Stream of small Volleys, can be good as Harassment if you have sustained Targetlock, but if not can waste a lot of missiles. Besides with little Defense you are easy food for most Close Range Attackers. Might try something like this if wanna load LRMs: http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=42&l=a7b570778294b9a126b4cf44a2184b911aa01340 but generally SRMs are the better choice.
standard 350 and far too many DHS maybe? Couldn't afford an XL? lol What a waste of a heavy... http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=101&l=94523b462c2b6a650de17a30e8c5c3b86effc5d5
To be fair if you are running an ON1-VA most of your hardpoints are on the arm anyways (only 1 ballistic in torso, all energy and 4 missiles are at the arm)... but even then you can deck it up alot more. If he has to go with standard, running a STD325 he can run with (2x ERLLas, 4x SSRM2, BAP, AMS) and still include a reasonable amount of ammo and DHS, although he should go for maybe an XL300 and add a AC10 or AC5. But as of now, my KTO backs more damage than this.
I have actually found LRM5's on light mechs can get you a few kills. They are not common, but they can be effective if the pilot ensures he is never found. Rare trait, but possible.
Oh! I'm not discussing the interest of light LRM5's builds. Actually, 2x LRM5 is my favourite on the Locust-3S for example. I won't call it deadly, but it's annoying for the opponent and so fun to pilot. But if this guy wanted a LRM commando he should have done it right: http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=6&l=9c28e3e9e381d5f1d3a46ca73fe50d59c03f0c6c (edited because, believe it or not, I did it wrong  )
I saw a Highlander with a build like this last night. Im not sure on the engine, but it makes the most sense with the ammo count he still had left and the weapons. http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=71&l=d315693a21de436e61ad1a46f13256bc5a3a4264
Well, that Atlas was surprised when his team bailed on him. I don't even get how he managed to mount so few weapons.
