Hello everybody A few time ago I posted topic about hunchback weapon custimisation and it's huge Hunch size. Please feedback on this picture:
This is why I think that they should limit the size of ballistic and energy slots the same way that Missile tubes have been sized. There is no reason that a 35 (or 25 or 20) ton mech should be able to carry an AC/20 like that. Or if they do, there needs to be some kind of penalty against it. Back in MW4 you would knock yourself over by using too big of a ballistic alpha. I'd love to see a raven get spun halfway around by firing a 20 or 10. And I want to see them look like they have a friggin' subway tunnel mounted to their torso.
well the actual inner-barrel diameters are sorta close... Your fallacy is believing stompy robots are correctly proportioned to true physical representations (ie, how exactly are you feeding ammunition from your foot to your right torso?). Would be fun to see a huge ppc on top of a raven, though. This is what PGI gets by not limiting hardpoint sizes per mech.
Yeah, the HUNCHBack has always been about that huge hunch. It is sort of built into the lore. Besides, who knows maybe when the Hunchback was originally built the casing system wasn't as refined as it was during the Firestarter production. Remember, technology, up until this point, was in a great state of decline. It wasn't until the clan invasion (around now) when people started pushing research and development over re-arm and deployment.
Even on the Atlas, the AC20 looks more to the same scale as the Hunchie. On the Atlas the AC20 looks like it's the same proportions as on the firestarter... except that the Atlas is at least twice is large. That looks like an AC10.. maybe an AC5 (might be to big for a 5).
Trolls running AC20 on Lights at almost Glasscannon and minimum Speed, not really contributing much to the Team, Yeah? I really get goosebumps when i see such ridiculous builds in my own Team. Wondering why there are no weight class limitations for the biggest gunz.
The AC20 at my BJ-1 looks the same as an AC5 at my jagermech :/ IMO PGI needs to make the weight classes more different in size, and properly scale weapons in that case too. I mean, a shadowhawk is just as large as a battlemaster!
Though on the topic of weapon looks... I'd like it if the LLs looked different to the MLs. You'd think it should look somewhat chunkier or have more of a protrusion. Also the PPC looks way goofy with the obvious flat textured 'glow' inside the barrel. It'd look a lot better if it was just a plain old barrel and the glow was on some electronics or some other external bit. I think currently, the AC2/5s look the same. So do the AC10/20s.
all autocannons look different on the jager. AC2 is smaller than AC5, AC20 is like a snub nose barrel, AC10 has rings on it and is (obviously) larger than AC5. PPCs are awesome, don't touch them :x (except yeah they're goofy). Lasers just need another lens color (blue and red), a small size difference and probably some more lights/electronics when they're pulses.
Smaller mechs should require larger housing for AC/20's, just like the hunchback and YLW. Blackjack/Firebrand should have their arm increased in size when an AC/20 is equipped, and the Shadowhawk should get more of a hunch. imo
Should I even bring up the Catapult component missile system? I've bolted up a reel to reel and 8 track under my missile boxes on my A1. They should just let me bolt a Commando on each shoulder, they're about the same size as the missile boxes.
