This game just entered open beta today:
    http://renegade-x.com/

If you remember the original c&c renegade, it was a FPS in the c&c universe that wasn't so bad. This is the updated unreal 3 engine game that is completely free (not even free to play). Doesn't seem so bad:

Just an update, but M.A.V. has surpassed its Kickstarter by around $5,000, reaching the first stretch goal- and there's still a few days left if anyone wants to get in on the action- a copy of the soundtrack is up next- and it's gonna be done by Varien, for those of you who know him.

www.bombdogstudios.com for those of you who are interested. There's a link to the Kickstarter there.

@Anvildude: That looks like an amazing project,

I've wanted a game like that in my head for a long time, but I envisioned it as some sort of tactical RTS where you can pick a select number of units which you create yourself are 'spy' from enemies with modular components before you start a match (if you're smart: covering all roles) which you can then build from your factories if you have the required parts manufacturing (or you can fly some parts in for increased cost). Buildings would be able to be customised too to your playstyle: small factories but which are easy to build, or ery large ones that can produce an endless stream of vehicles, your own turret loadouts or maybe even equip turrets on top of your regular buildings.

along with utility parts like shields, stealth, and more powerful area variants you could create a completely unique army....

    Dammit I need that game.

I just bought in to MAV for $20, but I'm with S7, the mech building is what sold me; I'm less impressed with the combat, RTS would be better.

Have either of you ever played ChromeHounds?

M.A.V. is meant to 'fill' the gap left by that game in Mecha action. There's the amazing customization, yeah, but there's also going to be a multiplayer element that'll be, well, similar to what Clan Warfare is supposed to be- you'll have to team up with other players to capture and hold territory in realtime and against realtime opposition- the territories you hold will get you resources that can be used to research new parts and buy them, open up options and strategies like denying power to other battlefields or say caves or passes that allow 'sneak attacks' deep behind enemy lines, take control of orbital weapons platforms or even construct and deploy your own 'boss Mech'.

It's not exactly RTS, but it will have an element of higher strategy to it aside from just "Kill enemy, take stuff". And since it's a small independent developer who's doing it out of love of the game as opposed to the bottom line... Plus it's planned to be community controlled- once multiplayer gets the kinks worked out there will be no "Master Server" and modding is planned to be allowed in some form- so it's possible you'll be able to get your RTS game from a mod.

Glad to see interest- it's been the community who's so far been the best supporters of the game, making videos and posting to forums like this. Thank's for the contributions. And remember, let other people know! Cajole your buddies and clanmates into buying in- if the Kickstarter gets to $30,000, everyone who pledged at the $30 mark will get the OST along with the game and the accolades!

I would pledge the shit out of it but I don't have amazon payments and I don't have a creditcard for it (or amazon payments) either.

Lately i'm playing much more LoL because MWO doesn't attract me with the recent updates. That somehow makes me sad. Hope this will change with the next Update.

Titanfall is a great fast paced game with some very dynamical features. You can't compare it to MWO. It's more like a Futuristic Version of COD, less like a Mechsim. From this point of View it's a great update to the Genre.

I've really been getting into Diablo III since the last update. They've harkened back to the old days of "Buy a game and get a game" instead of micro-transactions, paid DLC and pay X amount of dollars to receive this weapon/upgrade/premium time/perk.

D3 w/o Pay-to-win or any other real-world money sinkholes is incredibly fun for anyone who used to play classic RPGs (Bloodmoon, Morrowind, Diablo, Baulder's Gate, Neverwinter, Warcraft, ect)

I didn't care for Diablo 3. I did like Torchlight 2. Can't really explain why I didn't care for D3 though... More of a feeling than anything else.. Maybe it just felt like more of the same.

Well for myself i have to say that i prefer torchlight 2.It is the true successor to diablo 2 for me, it just haves this awesome gameflow that just puts you in a mood where all you care about is charge into the next monsters to slay them too :D. Simple and nice like a good action rpg should be.

Played Eve Online for over a decade now and due to go to Iceland again for my fifth Fanfest this year. For all the haters..... I'm in Pandemic Legion. ;)

Tend to play Eve, a FPS and "another" game at the same time but that changes frequently. The FPS I've flirted with a few (mostly disappointing) and have come back to MWO each time since its launch. That said I played table top so the game has been in my blood a long time.

Playing Thief atm as my "another" game but have booked the week off for early access on Elder Scrolls Online as I've played every one of the Elder Scrolls PC games.

... waiting for Star Citizen too. ;)

I started to play POE, after some walkthroughs in Diablo 3 with my Barbarian.. just for comparison. Damn, it's really awesome for a F2P-Game. It doesn't have the physical effects of D3, but the Masteries Tree is sooooooooooo huge! AWESOME! I think i'll play it a bit beside MWO.

For all who still don`t know this game, watch these:

    (watch the Skilltree at 9:17')
