Yeah Blagg, I've played that a bit; the skill tree is stupidly large.

    It's decent game imo.

I played it for a bit, but most of the skill tree is just a line of 'do x% more damage with ranged attacks' and '+10 to Strength'.

All 6 characters are just full or hybrid strength/dexterity/intelligence based rather than being an actual character with interesting character development (which is also to blame on the skillgem system, where skills can be used by multiple classes).

Not really what I was hoping for but some end-game things of the skill tree look interesting enough to get to them at some point.

Tried it... realised it was all slightly different generated maps..... got bored fast.

Found Diablo mind numbingly boring too it has to be said and POE just seemed very similar.

Not my style of game at all.

Yeah you have the freedom to create any crazy combination of Skills for your Champion over the Gem-System. And the (passive) Skilltree is not to unlock new powerful (active) Skills, but rather powerups the attributes of your Champ. The Gem-System is a bit unnatural, because you won't expect to suddenly give your Melee-Fighter some powerful Magic Skills like shooting Fireballs or Chainlightning. Hybrid Characters are strange indeed and there are lots of them running around. Some Restrictions would have been reasonable. But the devs decided against it so that YOU as Player take the full responsibility of your Character Development. You don't have to use gems which you don't like. Not having a classic Skilltree with fixed Skills but a Gem-System is imo not a disappointment but a fresh idea of free individualization. Besides you are totally motivated to find new Gems which give your Character new and even better Skills! You don't know what you'll get tomorrow. I like it very much compared to the disappointing Skillsystem in D3, where you are NOT motivated to start a second Barbarian or Sorcerer, because you can immediately interchange all of your Skills. What i like in D3 are the impressive Visual Effects, Animations and Bossfights.

Btw D3 in the New Updated Version since Release of the brandnew Addon is really very enjoyable. Extremely recommended to play all Characters again

DIII Reaper of Souls. Epic cut scenes and good story. You do HAVE to turn up the difficulty or it does get very monotonous and boring quick. However, the endgame quest style is quite interesting as well. Brings back the old DII style of randomized missions and dungeouns. I'm diggin' it.

The one thing that keeps me from getting incredibly addicted to PoE is the lack of item diversity. Whereas in DII you could essentially use any combo of weapon (though armour tended to have a linear progression) with any character- some just had bonuses for certain classes- and there was a variety of options for each play style- swords were fast but clubs were better against undead but polearms hit super hard but spears had reach but throwing axes were fast and had reach but javelins hit harder but axes looked cool... etc etc.

PoE just seems to have "This is the best 2 hander for this build at this level. This is the best 1 hander for this build at this level."

My best gamer friend has been cracking out on the revamped D3 lately pretty hardcore. I'm skeptical but I think I'm gonna have to give that or Dark Souls 2 at least a quick look pretty soon.

Dark Souls 2 is fantastic, really scratched my hardcore gamer itch as it is extremely difficult unless you use guides.

Are you playing PC or console as I've looked at the game a few times but the first one was a awful port that rather scarred me?

46? GET ON MY LEVEL!! ;)

I just maxed my Paladin OOPS! My Crusader, a couple weekends ago and got my Barbarian to the new max. That game is addictive AND I can play on my laptop at home. Something I cannot do with MWO...

I can't even go back to D3 after playing Torchlight 2. I know things are supposed to be better, especially with the D3 expansion, but I just can't do it I feel so let down after playing D3 right when it came out and Torchlight 2 met my D2-withdrawal in every possible way.

Torchlight 2 was great, but 5 characters and 5 end games later, I've gotten bored with it.

Recently I started playing a lot of SMITE (at the expense of MWO), something I suppose Blagg might like!

It's essentially a MOBA like DotA or LoL, but it's theme is designed around gods from mythology and it's completely in third person instead of the regular 'top-down RTS view'. This gives 'vision' a whole new aspect and I love the theme as well, you actually get to learn quite a bit from relatively unknown old mayan religions and such from the God's backgrounds. You carefully have to place all your skills as everything (including your basic attack) has to be aimed. A very skill-based and fun game which I recommend people to try out :)

^^I've heard of smite before, but holy shit. From that video, that takes way too much skill to play at even a...satisfactory... level.

    Ohhhhhh! Punny, LT! ;)

D3 was rough at best when it released, however, after coming back to it about a month before Reaper of Souls came out and playing through the expansion won me back. Now, I just need to find more time. :D

I would be happy if Blizzard just brings an Addon with some of the classic Champions from the Prequels but with Updated Skills. Would love to play again a superstrong Venomancer. ^_^

That video is like the top 0.000001% of epic skill everything. It has plenty of 'fun' gamemodes for less competitive players. Each day a new one and around 5 'regular' ones, (conquest, assault, arena, joust and siege, look them up) ;)
If anyone installs this, add me as friend, I'm looking for some people to play with!
