5/5, Yup I'm running my 6R(S) very similar - XL280 and an AMS, more armour, less ammo. Dead easy to use and really effective.
5/5, I love this build. Good for quick play and CW. 7 tons is perfect for a long match with dual Gauss.
New Tech version with Light Ferro-Fibrous, Light Engine 280, TC1 and ERML. You can swap the TC1 for a DHS or upgrade to a LE295 (or even strip some armor from the legs)
5/5, Why I didn't vote this build earlier? This is probably THE best build you can have across IS heavies: pinpoint damage, good range, excellent heat dissipation even if you skill only on heat gen and no operations. You can literally use this build on any map: you will be cool on any map, even the hottest, so this build is viable both in PUG and FP. Do NOT miss this build: you won't regret it.
I'll throw my take on here, but the base concept remains the same. And it's a glorious goddamn build. The number of Flea's I've legged with the Gauss and shot off the other leg with the lasers is staggering.
Just because I like to bump builds I love, this build is really OP in the right hands and I would rate it again 5 stars if I could. I'm using a slight different version featuring ERML instead of ML, TC1 and +1 DHS. Here some actual gameplay, 6 kills (5 solo), 900 + damage Spoiler: result
It depends. LE will grant better survivability, but the lower maximum speed and slightly worse acceleration and deceleration won't allow to poke as fast as you would with an XL engine. If you mastered positioning, poking and shielding it's better to use an XL engine because you will have an easier time to prevent / spread / shield from incoming damage. LE is a recommended choice for starters, but it is debatable provided you can achieve same or better results with an XL engine once you get a hang of how to survive with an XL engine.
