Sadly, we are not part of the Inner Circle and thus do not warrant being paid, even on a contract basis. We are truly "fan based".
No, they wouldn't. At least not from us. I won't comment on this matter further though as I HAVE taken my pain killers and my levels of tact seem to disappear with the back discomfort LOL
I'd really like a Jenner Hero Mech. I have the Founder's D, and the Champion F (I know Champion mechs are largely pointless but after returning to the game I didn't feel like grinding my way back into the Jenner I left behind pre-wipe), but the K sucks balls. That mech exists only to allow Jenner pilots a 3rd mech to unlock elite. I refuse to buy it. My Jenners will be stuck at basic until I have a Jenner Hero.
I don't hate to say it, but as the term goes... It's great to say it, So in my opinion... PGI wouldn't have a following for this game without this site. Every great game I have played since the advent of the internet has been made great due to following outside the confines of the game itself... An anomoly,... reality that can be solely attributed to sites like this one. Havens that offer what the scope of the game does not, due to lack of vision, intent or just plain capability of the team or Publisher. Without community following, there is only the game, and this game, better & worse than it's predecessors in the same breath, is still horribly lacking. So, in my opinion PGI should be thanking the gods hear: that this site exists, because without it, I would have given up on MWO a long time ago.... Back on topic!!! I want a Hero Raven Something like the 3L with Jump Jets would be fine! After that a Hunchie Something like the 4SP...... with Jump Jets would be fine!
I'd vote for a Hunchback hero, as I'm really interested in getting into the chassis (and I've been buying every Hero of late as it comes out, 'cause I've a terrible itch to collect at least ONE of every chassis). The only problem is, the Hunchbacks themselves are already so diverse, what is it you could possibly do to make it unique? Perhaps a cross between a pair of them. Give a fairly nice ballistic hunch, say 2 hardpoints, on the right torso. On the left torso, take the SRM 6 launcher idea. An Energy Hardpoint on each arm and one in the head, then give it a much higher engine cap than previous Hunchbacks. Also off-topic: I disagree entirely, Skidog. How many players have you talked to in-game that had no idea mechspecs even existed?
Yeah Hero-Raven would be great! Give it useful Missile & Energy-Hardpoints plus JJs and it would be great! suggestion: Raven "Golden Eagle" [3x Missile (CT+LT+RT), 2x Energy (LA+RA), 5x JJ, AMS, Engine max 300]
I really hope so. I know people are saying that they did Hero Atlas, now Hero Catapult, and next is Hero Hunchback and Jenner. But that "pattern" could be a coincidence. If we actually see a Hero Hunchback next then I'll be convinced that a Jenner is to follow. But for now I'm not holding my breath. As for hardpoints for a Hero Jenner... something with 2 ballistic slots would be nice. But if they don't want to do that I'll settle for ECM.
LOL, I have that itch, I just can't part with the funds to do it. I like your take on the Hunchie, I already elited the chassis... first one I did, though I do have to admit the only one I kept was the 4SP... Give that mech Jump Jets and I would be all over it.
Also off-topic: I disagree entirely, Skidog. How many players have you talked to in-game that had no idea mechspecs even existed?
Still off topic: Good point, but I disagree with your... disagreement This is why. It is not easy to carry on a conversation... In-Game, but any conversation had with said player in-game about MechSpecs, or other community sites I.E. Clans, lances, merc sites. will lead them to that respective site, especially if they are serious players that are looking to get into the game... Infact if they are serious players they will seek out the community sites since that aspect of MWO doesn't exist otherwise, and players like that (usually fans of MechWarrior already) want more. A place to Talk about triumphs, exploits, the badass loadout the just put in their Cataphract or a place to sit and listen to all the banter to find out why they aren't doing well in the game... which is why I sought out MechSpecs. Why are you here? Players that aren't serious about the game will not stick around, they will drop ship
Touche, skidog, and well put. And originally, I came to MechSpecs looking for... well, specs on Mechs and a place to share build ideas. I wasn't ever really involved with the community, but I'm making a concerted effort to change that.
Speaking frankly? This is the only community site that I participate in aside from my clan site. I used to go to NGNG until they sold out and became PGI stooge employees and it became one big "Yes Man" over there. That launch party thing they did was embarrassing to say the least and painful to watch. Too many sycophants for my liking and what is the point really? I see their mouths moving but I hear PGIs words coming out. Besides, guys I know have been banned from Comstar, NGNG, and places like them, for expressing their opinions. Whether I agree or disagree with other people here I know that it is HONEST opinion and not White Knight bullshit (pardon my language but it is true). Now I come here exclusively. Only have 1 sycophant to deal with. Right Michael? (nudge nudge nudge) Anyways, I want a Jenner hero, or a Raven hero or hell even a Spider hero would be great! Lets make the hit boxes even SMALLER so that they are REALLY hard to hit!
Actually Serious if I'm not mistaken, that would be considered sharing in the community, and no Touche, I'm just a Mech Fan that enjoys a good conversation.... so thanks for that, no chance to play today, so in a way.... this has made my day.... please tell me I didn't just write that.
I would like a Jenner and a Blackjack hero mechs. Because I run those. That said, I do *not* want a Hero version of any of the Project Phoenix 'Mechs for at *least* a year. After all, they let Founders have their version of their mechs all through closed beta and open beta before starting to put out Hero versions of those 'Mechs. I'd like to have the same benefit having purchased the Overlord package. Call me a snob, call me elitist... but I don't want another reason to feel like PGI hosed me. That said, I think other chassis could use a Hero mech first before them. I'd love to see a hero 'Mech based on the BJ-2. Just for grins and giggles. Or a Quickdraw hero would be interesting too.
Piority to the ones where you have only 3 variants, and especially where one of them is just an utter piece of crap. Jenner: Something either with 4x (or even 6x) ballistics would be fun. If not then 4x missiles like the S type Locust, bu may worry about being OP. Also need a non hero ECM variant. Quickdraw: Something with ballistic would be nice. Spider: The variants are ok, but a missile spider would be cool. Raven: Is good as is after the buff, but something with cool paintjob (and lots of JJ) won't hurt. Should wait until MESC. BJ: Something with missile hardpoints. Hunchback! I REALLY REALLY WANT A HERO FOR THIS ONE. Something with two hunches would be cool. But others have more urgent need. Phoenix Mech: NO! Theya re new, so they can wait.
Hero Blackjack. BJ-2 or BJ-4 setup. BJ-2 had 2 arm mounted Energy points (came equipped with 2xERLL) and 4x missile hard-points (came equipped with 4xSSRM2) BJ-4 had weapons that are not released into MWO yet, however, for argument's sake, 2x AC/5s and 2x MLas, all in the arms. This is less reasonable without the addition of Light AC/5s and ERMLas which the BJ-4 came with. However, a mech with 2x Ballistic hard-points and 4x Energy hardpoints, a 295 max engine and 2x JJ... THAT would be a killer and unique loadout... Pushing a pay-to-win mech though... Fast, flying, ballistics and a decent amount of energy. Jenner? Jenner IIC 4! Again, weapons that aren't in-game, but you can get comparable 4x SSRM2 and an XL315. EPIC!
wow, didn't expect, that so many voted for the Hunchback! Awesome. Though i didn't vote for the Hunchback, because it already has 4 variants, i also welcome a Hero-Version (e.g. with double Hunch, hopefully with small ones) Also a Quickdraw with a ballistic slot is very welcomed, would make the Quickdraw a bit more popular.
