And that's why Leia is disappointed with him. At this point, I've accepted the change as being no different from Tolkien changing "The Hobbit" after he wrote the "The Lord of the Rings" so that the character of Gollum is more consistent between the two. As for next Hero Mechs? Well, I was hoping that the "We're doing something different in April and May for releases" would mean two new hero mechs per month for the chassis that didn't have them. Since they didn't have new chassis in general to release after being called out on the Griffin and Wolverine snafu. (At least, that's what my guess is.) I'd like to see them hold off on Project Phoenix heroes until after the Clans hit, so we can get a full year of phoenix versions being the only +C-bill variants, similar to how the founder mechs were the last to get their own hero mechs.
Well after someone made strange comments about the upcoming quickdraw hero being done i took a look in the forums and stumbled over this: http://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/157531-hero-quickdraw-quickdraw-qkd-iv4/page__pid__3350582#entry3350582. Think it belongs in this topic
 so finally the Quickdraw gets the so needed "Special" Variant. Wow! I love it. Will buy when it gets released and load it up with 2x AC10s!
Lol exactly my thought as I was looking for a dual ac10 test bed. Well one of the 3 variants I worked out this morning while flying back from Iceland on the back of my now defunct hotel booking receipt.
Where do you find all these different hero mechs per chassis, are they really somewhere in the lore or do you just make them up?
They seem to make them up and tbh that particular story was a yawn a minute. Should get the person in Regiment that writes lore pieces to do it for them as the quality would soar.
In that case, my lore-less hopefully balanced dream blackjack: Blackjack "Ace" Max engine: 260 Torso yaw: 90 deg Torso pitch: 30 deg Arm pitch: 20 deg Jumpjets: 4 RA: 2M(10,5) RT: 1B/1E LT: 1B/1E LA: 2M(10,5) Possible alterations to these specs: - engine 280 without JJ - move E hardpoints to CT, increase launcher or engine size to compensate for less flexibility. An obvious pro is very maneuverable missile hardpoints and speed, which gives you proper aim over SRMs or can make you a speedy light-weight LRM boat with TAG if you want. However, Ballistics and energy are your pinpoint damage hardpoints and in ST they give you much less freedom to use than for example the BJ 1. Also can't run a flying AC20 with XL. The relative size of missile pods also restrict the arm's movement by 10 degrees. If the E hardpoints get moved to CT even more problems, as you'd only be able to mount one large laser-class and rules out ppc jumptarts.
The only actual Hero Mechs that existed before MWO, that I know of, are the Wang and the Protector, though the Wang is also supposed to come with a Hatchet. Supposedly the Death's Knell and the Pretty Baby are mentioned in Battletech lore, though their loadouts are never stated, so PGI had to make them up. All the rest, I believe, are completely new for MWO.
Oh man... I've never really liked QDs, but, if I could get a QD w/ dual ballistic arms I would grind that thing out so damn fast!
She is Online and ready for Purchase!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ot00Q8c5O6o Edit (07.05.14): Now that we got the new Hero Mech, it's time to update the vote options and reset the votes. You can do new votes (max 3) for the remaining Chassis with no Hero Version until now. Poll Result until today is added in the first Thread Message. Have fun!
Call me unimpressed, but still somehow tempted by that fully actuated ballistic arms. Any feedback already available?
Gotta say, I'm glad they put the energy in the CT. Prevents people from loading the same-old AC5+PPC combo that we already have dominating so many other Chassis. I actually like the symmetry and variety of the hardpoints on this 'Mech. I was never one to be really interested in the Quickdraw, but this 'Mech looks nice.
I really wanted to load up twin LBX10s, twin SRM6's and jump all over but the tonnage isn't there really... :/
I hope next up would be Blackjack. Judging from the formula we will get one with 2-4 missile slot which is good. Now opefully they would put in JJ and 2-4 energy slot as well. My wish: HD: n/a CT: n/a LT: 1E, AMS RT: 1E RA: 1E, 2M(10,6) LA: 1E, 2M(10,6) 2x JJ. Max engine 250.
As long as we're dreaming, go for the Cent Zombie style possibilities with two energy in the chest! HD: N/A CT: 2E LT: AMS RT: N/A RA: 1E, 2M(10,6) LA: 1E, 2M(10,6) 2xJJ Max Engine 255 (Let's at least strive for a more common engine that we own! ) Or just go straight out of lore and go for the BJ-2. HD: n/a CT: n/a LT: 2M (10, 5), AMS RT: 2M (10, 5) RA: 1E LA: 1E 2xJJ Unspecified engine, so, again, I would enjoy the common 255.
This should be a standard variant. 45 tons 180 engine (235 max) 4 JJ 272 points standard armor standard internal structure 2x ERLL 4x SSRM2 LA 1E RA 1E LT 2M, 1AMS RT 2M I'd get it in a heartbeat. P.S.: You can find official stats at www.solaris7.com for 'Mechs and pretty much everything else BattleTech. My Hero votes went to Blackjack, Griffin, and Wolverine.
Blackjack, cuz blackjack! (Already posted my dream build on page 2) Spider, you need a way to avoid the Spider V! Battlemaster because I feel there could be done more with the chassis. There are 5 variants now which are pretty different (reason why I didn't vote shadowhawk) but they seem very similar in roles they fulfill, unlike the shadowhawk. A hero variant would mix that up a bit hopefully.
I agree, Durant. It should be a standard variant. However, since they didn't release it, I would certainly settle for a C-Bill grinding MissileJack!
