I used Aylek's last variation of the 'Raptor' with the XL330. But I tried to make a handy use of this ballistic slot. I wasn't really satisfied with different UAC5 or AC5 builds. So I took one MG and complemented it with an SPL. Weapon group 1: 2 x LPL Weapon group 2: 2 x SRM4, MG Weapon group 3: MG, SPL (close range sustained fire)

On the build, I've never been partial to a single machine gun on an asymmetrical build (edit) on any build. I would probably drop it in favor of more ammo for the SRMs and a stronger shield arm since you are working with an XL engine. or you could drop in ferro to up the engine to get it up over 100
@SkiDog Thank you for your kindly reply! Well tweaked builds there! On the other hand they don't use the ballistic slot anymore. So I will stay with my own build at the moment and will give yours a try when mine isn't running good.
I understand your feeling on this. It's nice to be able to use all of the hardpoints, but in this case you really don't need the single machine gun. In fact, giving it more thought I would probably drop the single pulse laser also. Something like this... fast with a reasonably hard punch for a medium.
@Aylek: I honorably mentioned your XL330 'Raptor' build in my opening post. This one was my "daily runner" and perhaps will be again because i appreciate fast medium mechs (bought the XL330 for this one!). Thank you! @SkiDog: I can easily comprehend your arguments and almost surely you are right. However you can adopt the 'Raptor' build on the WVR-7K too. But I was looking and still look for a build which emphasises the specialities of this Hero Mech. Btw: Please, don't underestimate the combination of one MG and one SPL, I scored some nice kills with them (that just made my day)!
@Aylek and if I actually had this mech I would most likely have one of your builds in it. @Wulfgart, not really creating an argument. I don't actually use this chassis, so I am just doing what a lot of us do on here and min maxing the best way I know how. I usually don't post my builds on here unless I have experience with the chassis, so you won't see a lot of builds on here by me, since by that time these guys have already posted them. Not really underestimating, just posting according to my play-style... most of the time with this type of mech I am punching hard then re-positioning if I didn't get the kill on the first volley. it doesn't really leave enough face time for the MG to be of much use.... again, that's just me.
@Wulfgart I would say it would benefit from having 2 tons of SRM ammo. As for the MG, it is a bit of a personal style. I personally would go for armor/JJ instead of a single MG+ammo, but go with it if it works for you. As for the rest... there really isn't a lot you can do with this variant. Indeed hot, was the basis of some 6K build rather than Q. You may add ML or SPL, whichever suits you. My own build was using the Ballistic Cooldown quirk on Q though, usually.
