Running around in sub-par lights seems to be my thing, both in terms of what the matchmaker wants me to do and my best matches by any metric. I continue to have solid runs in Adders and have been complimented in chat by both friend and foe more often in them than any other chasis. Yes, yes, I tend to do even better runs in meta-lights, but for how much the non-meta ones are considered to suck I have good runs in most of them. In the medium category, Centurions for the win (you poor, poor T4 mechs, you). Also, as of the time of this posting, I'm particularly proud of: -over 2500 damage/hour on the COM-3A -1:1 KDR and over 2400 damage/hour on the COM-1B -Have overcome originally poor match scores from testing various builds on the CN9-AL using https://www.mechspecs.com/threads/c...erllas-3x-mlas-2x-ssrm2-ams-bap-std-275.4994/ in only PuG drops and achieved 1.56 Win/Loss and over 3800 damage/hour. -Maintaining a positive KDR with over 3500 damage per hour on the Adder-D while mastering it. I now use the build on the Prime because I do better having the ballistic arm rather than pure energy.
We need to talk about this. Was this an addict move? Was this your dumping the vodka down the toilet moment or what? Because I see no reason to sell a mech in this game, let alone a Hero mech you paid cash for.
Commandos are my favorite light going back to Mech Commander... Tiny little soldier guy with missiles crammed into chest. Harpoon SRM-6 Launcher sounds so serious when its a mech's heaviest weapon. I'm currently buying back mechs I've sold sadly, the commando and hunchback are next. I always wonder 'if I could only have one mech....' Would be it meta or one close to my heart?
I also sold my Heavy Metal (only mech I've broken 1100 damage in) and Protector .... I would say it was a mix of addict/crackhead needs cbills and wasn't piloting those mechs anymore... I had both flame and fang... My only hero / mech to survive all this time is my Wang. I even sold my Jäger DD then had to buy it back a week later ugh. I've stopped though, I'm a horrible mech-owner I know. If Fang goes on sale I may buy him back (screw flame). Right now the heroes I have The Arrow, Wang, Firebrand and Phoenix Overlord mechs. Almost bought the victor bundle. RIP Heavy Metal.
Uziel. No contest. Simply the best mech ever designed. Unfortunately ComStar would have to invent a time machine to give me one.
The Uziel is why I got MW4 after years of battletech ignorance since the days of the battletech cartoon. Coolest design ever? Maybe... Thinking thinking... I don't know I really love my dragon!
The Uziel on the front of MW4:Vengeance is love, The Uziel on the front of MW4:Vengeance is life. I played that game to death where I had to download it because the disc stopped working (which is how I discovered MekTek and then MW:O, never cared much for MW:LL because I couldn't make my own variants). The front cover is something I'll never forget one of the prettiest things in my childhood EDIT: Did some calculating, I think some of my best mechs atm are: the CN9-A with 3'944 dmg/h, God I love the Zombie Caesar. the JM6-DD with 4'501 dmg/h, almost exclusively 2x AC10, 4x MG, 2x ML XLbrawling awesomeness the SHD-2H(P) with 4'888 dmg/h, DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA ballistic boat! I'm sad they nerfed it, but I see why
You just reminded to go back and fix my Jäger back to the twin AC10 build. Though I have a really great build on it I'm almost ready to post on build section.. Need to cough up cbills for the modules. Not looking forward to ECM Lokis despite being one of my favourite clan heavies.
CTF-4X. Two favorite builds... 2xUAC/5 + 2xAC/2 + XL255 + Ammo = Most dakka you could get out of an IS Mech (at least back in the day...) Second Build... STD225, 2xML in the center torso. 2xGauss. Zombie-Gauss! Slow. Monkey Arms. For some reason... I love it! My other love: Centurions! Sad... I can run a shadow hawk with 3xSRM6A, 3xML and Jump Jets with a standard engine... Most Cent mechs can't hold enough firepower to make them worth runing anymore... but you can still find me in a cent from time to time.
And this... https://www.mechspecs.com/threads/bj-1-gauss-jack-1x-gauss-3x-mlas-1x-jj-xl235.5250/ BJ-1 with Gauss and 3xML. Every time I run it I have such a good time... until I get clan dual-gauss dual-erppc - in-the-face death and realize I didn't do as much damage as I thought I was doing... %$#%@$#%@%
You have no idea how much I can relate to this One of the reasons I went back to full brawling AC20+3ML, somehow I dealt more damage with that!
It doesn't technically count as I did quit it, but I love the spider-5v! It was so much fun to pilot that crazy agile mech with 11-12 jjs. It just got disheartening tying to break 200 damage a math with hat thing. It did give me one of my favorite wins escaping a Jenner on TT conquest by flying up onto the platform at theta. Weeeeeee! I am holding out hope it gets some epic quirks and icanwelcome it back home.
Problem is, it isn't my 'Mechs that are subpar, but my playing. That said, it's hard to say at the moment. I've been spending all of my time on 'Mechs that aren't mastered that I don't play any of the ones that are. But I'm thinking my GRF-1N. All of the weapons on one side? Lotta' people don't like that. Me? I see it as a challenge. One that I fail more often than succeed, but it is fun nevertheless. Edit: Wait? The GRF-1N is considered Tier 2!? The same 'Mech that early on was being decried as DoA due to all the hard points being on the right side? Well, given that - Toss up between the TDR-9S, and the WVR-6R. I play the 6R as a skirmisher, and dakka things with my AC5. Yeah, the SHD does Dakka mo-betta'... but meh, the WVR has class... and a wider FoV.
Secretly my favorite raven is the 4X . I can't help it! I like having the energy, ballistic, and missile hard points on a light and being able to mount all of them! Plus, jump jets!
The 1N is actually highly competitive given that with a STD engine it can use the whole left side as a shield, it's been used a lot with JJ's, SRM's and MLAS. https://www.mechspecs.com/threads/grf-1n-a-cent-in-disguise-3x-srm6-a-3x-mlas-3x-jj-std275.4246/
I never noticed that the concept design was more true to the original having the arms attached to the legs....
