The "Rain" (A.K.A. "Chocolate Rain") is a simple medium LRM boat.

"The main drawback of the (TBT-5N) is its endurance: since it was never meant to operate far from supply lines the Trebuchet has a limited amount of munitions for its missile launchers and once these ammunition bins have run dry the 'Mech must defend itself with only its laser weapons..."

You can sell your soul (or 1 ton of ammo) for 1x MLas on the right arm. The energy hard points aren't center torso -- the real design drawback in my opinion. I find the extra ton of ammo does more than the laser. It also allows the pilot to focus on protecting the left arm launcher.

In all honesty, you can drop 50% of the ammo and add 3x MLas to the right arm. Alternatively, Artemis can be dropped to add 2x MLas. The size of the engine can even be increased, and/or the armor load-out, at the expense of precious (oh so precious) ammo. But, then it wouldn't be "Chocolate Rain".

 

Best ton/damage IS LRM boat, why STD engine tho ? you just need the extra ammo.

 

I suggest leaving that to a 3C instead. No JJ but better quirk bonus. Performance goes up alot with chain firing especially. Probably the best medium LRM boat.


The high quirk bonus means you have a huge increase in dps. But with that it chews up loads of ammo.
This one stays on the back with a continuous rain of indirect LRM15+A.

 

Going to jump into a stock 7K for a bit and then settle on your build with the Elite bonus. Exactly what I wanted from this chassis. Thanks.
