I created several dummy accounts for the test of mediums and this was my favorite by far. The head (if you measure it) isn't that much higher than the low-slung AC's on the arms of a Black Jack - which I also tested. The armor is front loaded and ready to take a single raven-snipe in the back at very least. Fast enough to up-down the hills but not too fast otherwise you need to go 70% throttle to avoid the long slow-down of stopping to fire. Or just back-up to the fire spot then accelerate forward if you change the engine specs to be faster with a PPC instead of 2ERLL. When I started with a fresh account I noticed the torso twist and pitch was like an already elited mech, and I was able to aim up at enemies firing down on me in caustic with just the basics on the mech. I compare this mech to Gauss-Jagers and duelled with such mechs and won. Using the arms to take missile hits. This mech was a breeze to get 500 damage without much effort and when I really had to test my mettle I found my lack of Gauss skill matching my combat with lights using my better-trained laser skills. So this teaches both. A great trainer, useful in the hands of the less skilled and nasty in the hands of a good player. But especially, it could be yet another "medium replaces a heavies role" for inner sphere when community warfare comes around. Keep an eye out for this build.

Its too slow for a medium, also really low in armour in the arms, so u cant use them as shields. I see ur point, its designed to stay well far away from the battle firing, but i honestly dislike the idea. I would drop 1 ERLLas for a MPLas and get this so u can also have something to defend urself. Also i place an AMS as standard. Too many LRMs out there to avoid it. Or use all that weight to upgrade the engine:
First 100 matches. W:61 L:38 T:1 DMG: 26,234 (262 avg and climbing) K:53 D:61 (0.87 avg and climbing) EXP: 69,503 (UAV'd every time I became "front line") Been rocking 200-550 damage except for a 87dmg game today for about 12 games straight. About 5 of them were near 400 but not past. I cored out four guys one match just an hour ago but they ran. Every time I core someone they stop popping out to get shot so maybe that's why my kills are not high. GaussJager players must see this a lot. In all honesty I was unprepared to play like a Jager, never had one. Much less trained in gauss rifles, so this was an experience. I posted this thread before I bought one for my main account, and have basic the 7m to see if I wanted it and a cheap treb with 4 large lasers to get it over with asap so I could master the 7K. Unfortunately I lag a lot so a great many shots that should hit end up in terrain next to them. I'm getting better though, and if I have stats like this as a sub-par player with the mech I'm sure someone with the rig and know-how can rock this treb like a jager. I found my arms are life savers if I'm caught off guard against a missile boat or a dire wolf and I need to run. I sort of rely on people to aim at me if I see I'm alone and my team is flanking, that's the highest honor to be relied upon to split enemy fire off my team and we end up winning. May explain my K/D ratio, I'm a team player. Hence the wins. Target Dep+Adv Zoom, Cool Shot+UAV, Gauss Cooldown(working on Gauss Range atm). Will update later when I play this some more and start remembering to pull some damage screenshots to post here.
