Oh well, at least it gives me the opportunity to replace Death's Knell (yeah ima actually sell it) with a 4th JJer for my pay2lose IS deck... ...tryin to decide between Ember and Anansi. Here is my breakdown: CONS: - Anansi weighs 30 tons, same as Urbie. Boo, redundancy. Boooooo... this notion is the one that weighs heaviest in my mind. - Ember I'd have to buy 2 other variants and 8/8 dump em, cuz I never was around for the Firestart. - Ember apparently used to kinda be legit when they broke MGs; I want no misunderstandings that my dropdeck is real derpage. - Ember has broken Firestart hitbox, which leads to crutching. Crutching's fine[borderline necessary] when you're trying, not when you're trying... to lose. - Ember would also leave me with only 24 MC, not enough to camo 2 Urbies when they come out... WAT: - Ember I'd be ignoring the ballistic hardpoints, which means it'd be the exact same as a Death's Knell except slightly bigger and with JJs. But maybe this is a good thing, considering I'd be keeping Death's if it even had JJs to begin with... hmm... I'd basically be paying money to add JJs to a shit mech I already paid for... hmm... this one I'll leave in the middle. PROS: - Anansi would be a straight single grind, cuz I already mastered a spider way back when. - Anansi has all 3 hardpoint types, especially that useless chest missile for serious "wtfloadoutisherunning" LRM5age. - Ember might look a tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny bit more 'slick' overall, profile-wise, exposure-wise, and aesthetically... but I consider the camo comparison to be a washout. Still not sure, got the weekend to think it over I guess... Here's another point you forgot: CONS: - Ember can't be recolored. Sure it has three color slots like every other mech but those are for tiny little highlights mainly around the head and side. The thing's blue and it's gonna stay blue. Anansi can be freely painted. I've personally had some success with the Anansi and have only recently started playing the Ember, so I'm not really qualified to give suggestions. If your goal is to suck as much as possible I'd rather take the Anansi though, Ember is supposed to be much better.
I got the Terra Cotta AKA Pink for just 250MC, sweet Send a mail to support, it might work and will just take 2 min. I say go Ember, and istead of making it a bigger jumping TDK, make it a bigger jumping and wubbing TDK ! With -7,5% duration for even more surgical wubbing. I heard you like jumping in another topic, so it can even go : XL285 is even better if you like to jump and already own it, gotta equip all them JJs. After the weapon modules having only 1 weapon system is always a big advantage , on this you can just slap on MPL cooldown/range plus seismic and radar deprivation and go out wubbing. And it's not a meta ML/MG Ember !
Meh. Wish the sale included CB costs, not just MC, I'd pick up two Griffins to round out my deck. Oh well.
I went with Anansi! I like the hardpoint flexibility... will never be mistaken as tryhard mech... can be fully colored in camo shop... and I already mastered a Spider back in the day so it'll be a quick mastery grind (which btw is horrible without premium time oh my god). And yeah, I just sent em an email; why not... maybe they'll credit me back some MC. Either way, I'm done spending money on the game, prolly forever. Hero derpdeck is finalized [builds aren't], haz 20 mechbays, all the colors I'd ever need (those are all I spent MC on back in beta), and every mech is camo'd... I guess maybe the 7 buck MC pack when wave 3 comes out, otherwise gg.
What do you guys think the likelyhood of seeing a Clan Hero mech is? I've got about 10k MC I've been holding onto for months and I'd like to drop it on a Clan Hero mech. But my will is starting to fail me a little with all these hero mech sales. I currently only have a Firebrand as I normally prefer to spend ££ on mech packages.
