Tired of the same old thing? SRM6's and 4's just not turning you on anymore? The solution is here! Introducing the back-asswards philosophy of "less missiles is better!" The way I play this is such; SRM2's are set to chain fire with each launcher being assigned to weapon groups 4,5,6,4,5,6. I then use Fire Control set to Mouse Thumb 1 firing 4,5,6 at 167 millisecond intervals. That gives me 6 rapid-fire rabbit punches of 4 damage each, in a group of 6 with a short delay between each group which then results in 0 ghost-heat. I first thought that 500 missiles would be enough. I also thought that this would be no fun to play in solo drops. I THOUGHT WRONG. Anyone else try this or similar? Thoughts, improvements?
I came up with a similar build, but it uses SRM4s and MWO's natural chain fire instead of fire control. I used to use SRM2s but started to find that my opponents were not afraid enough of my SRM flak guns, so I upgraded my tubes. My build also uses the chain-firing 4s as backup rather than the primary weapon system, and I went for 5 ER Mediums instead of 4 Medium Pulse. https://www.mechspecs.com/threads/mdd-prime-yig-5x-cerml-6x-csrm4-23x-cdhs.11641/ The idea is to play at mid range, and drill your opponents from afar. Then if the tide of battle turns and people end up in your face, you spit SRMs in their eyes and blind them. Then if they don't backoff they'll quickly find themselves dead as 6 SRM4s is nothing to scoff at.
6 SRM4's works perfectly with the built in chain fire, it's almost exactly like 6 LRM5s, also with no ghost heat. I like your build, too. I have that on another MDD I own right now.
